As an NSFW content creator, you’re gonna inevitably produce a large- and I mean LARGE- amount of digital content, including images and videos. I’ve got thousands and thousands of files on my computer. Managing all this content effectively will save you a lot of time and frustration, and doing it correctly will even help you with distribution and protect your files.
Here are some tips I have, for the good of humanity and NSFW creators everywhere:
Create a consistent file naming system.
This will help you to find files easily; don’t be clicking around all day trying to dig through thousands of images trying to find that one file… it’s a waste of time, and time is money.
A good file naming system should include the name of your business, or persona, stage name, artist name pseudonym (whatever). For example, I’m TrashArtistry, so I always include “TrashArtistry” in my filename.
Include the name of the piece, such as “SabinaBreeze Reams Herself with New Dildo”. This tells you what the file actually is. You can also include the date, which can help with finding and cataloging files.
Use folders to organize your files.
Create folders for different projects, clients, processes, or types of files. This will make it way easier to find the files you need when you need them. For example, you could create a folder for “Client X” and then subfolders for “Project A”, “Project B”, and “Project C”. I like to sort all my watermarks in one file, all my photo content neatly distributed by topic to their homes in labeled files, and then use sub-files within to differentiate between what I’ve posted and what I haven’t.
Back your files up regularly.
It really sucks when all the sudden all those hours of work disappear because of some awful coincidence or act or something. Your computer exploded? Well, there goes all your work, all your files.
A good way to avoid this is to back up your files to an external hard drive, a cloud storage service, or both. Google Drive offers free storage up to a point, and there are lots of good options of drives on Amazon or your preferred retailer.
Use tags to categorize your files.
Tags can help you- and your viewers- to find files quickly and easily. Remember, remember: time is money! Use tags to categorize your files by project, client, subject matter, and other relevant criteria. Knowing your tags will also help you do SEO stuff, which is important when you want people to find your work on search engines and stuff like that. Don’t get lost in the wide, open sea of the web! It’s worth it to tag.
Delete files that you no longer need.
This might sound basic, but sometimes it’s easy to generate a few hundred files and not really make use of them. Just delete ‘em, you hoarder. You’re gonna make more. This will help to free up storage space and make it much easier to find the files you need when you’re not digging through extra weight.
Keep your file management system up-to-date.
Just keep it up. You got this. It might not seem important, but once you’ve been working for awhile you’re really gonna wanna have your ducks in a row.
All of these will help you keep your stuff organized and keep you sane. Don’t subject yourself to unnecessary chaos- it’s a quick way to get burned out, and patience is the name of the game when starting your NSFW journey.

TrashArtistry NSFW has thousands and thousands of files. Managing all the content can seem intimidating, but if you’re doing it yourself, it’s worth the time and effort.
